American Veterans Group + VetJobs

Expanding Access to Veteran Talent Across Private Equity Portfolios

American Veterans Group and VetJobs are working together to help private equity firms connect their portfolio companies with an often-underutilized source of experienced talent: military veterans, transitioning service members and military family members.

The initiative also reflects a broader approach to how AVG builds client relationships: moving beyond purely transactional participation to become a deeper enterprise partner.

Capital markets execution remains a baseline expectation. But AVG believes its relationships can create additional value by identifying adjacent, non-transactional capabilities that align with a client’s broader strategic and operational objectives. Consistent with the Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP) framework of shared enterprise value and operational integration, AVG looks for opportunities to extend the relationship beyond individual transactions and address meaningful business priorities.

The AVG Veteran Jobs Network is one example of that approach.

Through the network, portfolio companies gain access to VetJobs’ nationwide military talent pipeline, recruiting expertise and career resources. The model is straightforward: private equity firms introduce the opportunity across their portfolios, AVG and VetJobs provide the infrastructure and support, and individual companies determine how veteran talent can help address their workforce needs.

The result is a scalable model that allows private equity firms to provide an additional talent resource across multiple portfolio companies without creating a new recruiting program or infrastructure.

A Proven Talent Network

Since the AVG Veteran Jobs Network launched in April 2023 through August 2026, the AVG-VetJobs partnership has:

  • Helped 1,215 veterans and military family members secure new careers

  • Expanded the network to 184 participating companies

  • Helped recent placements secure positions with an average starting salary of $91,000

  • Directed 79% of placements to former or active enlisted service members or their immediate family members

The network is designed to create business value by helping employers reach candidates whose military experience has developed leadership, technical expertise, adaptability, accountability and the ability to perform in demanding environments.

Private Equity in Action

KKR: Demonstrating Results

AVG’s work with KKR demonstrates how the model can be scaled across a private equity portfolio, and how a relationship can expand beyond traditional capital markets activity to address broader enterprise priorities.

Working with KKR and VetJobs, AVG has connected military-affiliated candidates directly with KKR portfolio companies through targeted career fairs and ongoing recruiting support.

From November 2025 through September 2026, the organizations co-led four VetJobs career fairs, with as many as a dozen KKR portfolio companies participating in private breakout sessions and engaging with more than 800 military-affiliated attendees.

Since the partnership began, 15 veterans have secured positions with more than 10 KKR portfolio companies, demonstrating how engagement at the private equity level can create meaningful recruiting opportunities across an entire portfolio.

Thoma Bravo: Bring the Model Directly to Portfolio HR Leaders

AVG and VetJobs are now expanding the approach through engagement with Thoma Bravo and its portfolio companies.

On Sept. 16, 2026, AVG and VetJobs were invited to speak at a Thoma Bravo summit for portfolio-company human resources leaders in Chicago. The gathering included 83 attendees representing 40 Thoma Bravo portfolio companies, giving AVG and VetJobs an opportunity to introduce the Veteran Jobs Network directly to executives responsible for talent and workforce strategy.

The discussion focused on how portfolio companies can tap into the military talent community and incorporate

veteran recruiting into their existing talent strategies.

The Thoma Bravo engagement demonstrates another advantage of the private equity model: a sponsor can use its convening power to introduce a valuable workforce resource simultaneously to dozens of companies, while each portfolio company determines how best to participate based on its own hiring priorities.

It also illustrates the broader enterprise-partnership model AVG is pursuing, identifying ways to bring capabilities beyond capital markets execution into areas where they can support a client’s strategic objectives.

A Scalable Model for Private Equity

KKR demonstrates results. Thoma Bravo demonstrates reach. Together, they demonstrate the potential to build relationships that extend well beyond the transaction.

Rather than approaching employers individually, AVG and VetJobs can work with a private equity firm to extend the opportunity across an entire portfolio. The private equity firm provides the connection and convening power. AVG and VetJobs provide the veteran recruiting resources, talent pipeline and infrastructure. Portfolio companies gain access to another source of qualified candidates.

For private equity operating, talent and human resources leaders, the model provides an additional resource for addressing one of their most important business priorities: finding exceptional people.

For AVG, it represents something broader. Capital markets capabilities provide the foundation for the relationship, while adjacent capabilities such as the Veteran Jobs Network create opportunities for deeper operational integration and shared enterprise value.

The goal is to move beyond being viewed simply as a transactional participant or “check-the-box” vendor and instead become a trusted enterprise partner—one that delivers value both within and beyond the capital markets.
